About the Author
Kate Murray is a children’s author based in Poole, Dorset. Originally from Chicago, she has lived in the UK for over 25 years, studying English Literature at the University of St Andrews, completing an MSc in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh, and working in advertising for 15 years.
Kate now writes humorous poetry inspired by family life, mischievous kid logic, and the everyday chaos of parenting. Her work is shaped by life at home with her husband Alastair, their two children, and two dogs.
She is passionate about creating books that help children fall in love with reading AND writing - without boring the adults along on the journey. Out of Line is her debut poetry collection and is published independently under her imprint Zooni Sandwich.
Kate also works with local schools, delivering engaging author visits focused on humour, confidence, and creative writing.
